Best leather seat cleaner/perserver?

How do I best preserve the leather seats on my -86 300SDL?

I normally use saddle soap, but is there something else I should use to delay cracking of the leather seats?

Sincerely

Anders

Neatsfoot oil works pretty good too. I've been using it on my Audi seats for years now. Just don't jump in the car in white clothes for awhile

I honestly wouldn't recommend Lexol. Leatherique is superior, and if you don't want to go through the re-dye process, soaking the seats with their rejuvenator oil and cleaning with prestine clean will work wonders.

Thanks,

The Letherique looks interesting. I guess they do not have in local stores like Pep-Boys etc., so I probably have to order it from ther website.

Sincerely

Anders

I recommend Leatherique and Griots Garage.

I prefer Griots Garage. I first used their leather rejuvenator, and then their leather care.

It's been a while since I've been on here, but since then I have become a master detailer at an import shop. To clean seats we use a combination of water, soap, and ammonia. After that combination cleans and strips the seats, we use connolly hide food, made popular with jaguar drivers, to replenish the seats. I've not seen a product that has outperformed this combination.

Saddle soap by itself dries out leather. It must be followed by a preservative.

I forgot about Connolly Hide Food. I've heard great reports about it.

Penske Mercedes in West Covina, off of the 10 freeway, sells it.

I've heard quite a few good things about Leatherique on leather, but what works best to give mb-tex life back? The mb-tex portion of my seats are hard and slippery rather than soft and supple. I thought Lexol is more so for MB-tex? Does it soften it at all? Does anything?

Vinylex for MB-Tex. Nothing else even comes close.
