hydraulic fluid
I was told to be very carefull what kind of fluid you put in.
The MB hydro fluid is mineral oil based, so dont use tractor hydro fluid, it is not mineral oil base, it could damage your seals, accumulators, pump, etc ![]()

As for af luid, I've used CaseIH HyTrans fluid. If it works well in 50 year old tractors in the transmission/hydraulics I figured it would be ok in my mb's power steering. No failure in 2.5 years, 44K miles.

Yes I used Hi trans fluid also, for about six months after I changed my accumulators (spheres)
Then I did a search and was told you could damage things with Hi trans fluid in a MB system. So I flushed the system and put in some high quality mineral oil hydro fluid that was cheeper then MB's fluid and am leting it run for a few months to clean up the system, the I will put in MBs fluid when the system is clean. The leveling parts are expensive, so I dont want to take to many chances. But as I always say" do what works best" and "If it aint broke dont fix it" ![]()
