My 300D turned 180,000 (pic)

Hey all,

Today was a nice magical day. My 87 300D ticked over 180,000 miles on the freeway somewhere out here in Southern Cali. I just happened to have my camera on-hand and decided to make it a photo op:

I know, I know... I missed it by a mile.

-Mike

Where in the heck did you go over 110 MPH at 3:25 P.M. in SoCal???? Must have been on one of the desert interstates. Certainly wasn't in the city anywhere. And . . . you've got guts! To take a photograph while going that fast. No wonder you missed it my a mile. It probably took you five miles to take your camera out of its case. Congrats.

113 MPH!!!!
Had to hurry up and get to 180,000 miles

Slow down, enjoy the journey not how fast you can get to the destination.

But thats great 113MPH

Dave

PS Lets see 113MPH taking a picture, one hand on the wheel, or were you talking on the cell phone with the other hand??

Nice! no blurring of the picture, must have been a smooth road, or could it have been on a dyno? (ah, not wanting to be a party pooper, I just had to ask!)
Maybe I'll try that next time I cross New Mexico.

Trip Odometer

How did you reset your trip odometer while moving? I have a 300SD and thought that you would do terrible things to your speedometer if you reset while moving. Maybe the difference in years between models.

Congrats on the milestone. I have about 22,000 more miles to go to catch up to you.

Great picture, great miles! I have about 1000 more miles to 222,222. The camera has new batteries and is already in the car!

Joe.

Nice smooth road, yes. I waited for a break in traffic to do the run and ended up accelerating from a stop on an on-ramp all the way to that speed (and look at that temp gauge, still normal!).

As for my trip odo, it's broken. Broke earlier that day. Ugh.

I was pulling a "nardo" when I took the pic... if you watch the video of the 190E 16v at Nardo on the MB website, you'll notice that the drivers are going 150+mph with one hand on the wheel
