Lightbulb technical reference choices

here's a question I feel that only the experts can answer
went to my local MB dealer and purchased the Model124 service manual library Version2.0 thinking that it would enlighten me on the in's and outs of repairs and tech references of my restoration project 87 300Dturbo, well as I scroll through the library I sudenly notice when I magnified the text because I could not read the Tiny words or pictures , the more I magnified the more distorted it became which caused me to shift my little brain into overdrive to get a full understanding, this is really something when you have to translate wiring diagrams (routing/terminations and color codes
and wire numbers/sizes, now the question is it better to purchase the tech reference books ? or just fell lucky because I have all the tech information at hand and it takes up less space, more picsels or more books? interested in getting your opinions

The books are better but more difficult to obtain and possibly even more expensive. The CD's are nothing more than poor quality scans of the books. Shame on Mercedes.

I've never seen the CD's, but looking at my books for the 300D, I can't imagine doing that much scanning and not bothering to do it well. Jeez..

What I did.

I bought a CD version of the 116 manual off Ebay for $20 - I figured that I only had $20 to lose, so what the heck. It turned out fine, works great, but as people have said, it's hard to read, and hard to find what you are looking for. After I got the CD, I took it to work with me and printed each and every PDF file to our laser printer. It took a long time and a lot of paper, but I find the printed version much easier to use than the CD version.
