Talking What made my day!

It was an ugly grey day here in New York. I was on the northern state parkway, suddenly, from out of the blue came a w126 300SD. Man, was that car cherry. It was blue and in perfect condition. I was driving my crappy G20. The took off and I could not keep up with him. Also the car had the bunt wheels, but its wheel base looked larger then my 1984 sd. Do bunt wheels come in a larger wheel base then 14"?

Your question is confusing. Wheelbase is the distance from the center of the front wheels to the center of the back wheels. But it sounds like you might be asking about wheel diameter. Yes, there was a 15", but they are very rare.

Sunds like the car was running well!

If you mean wheel offset, I do not think so. There are 15 in Bundt wheels available but extremely rare. I think it was an illusion. Maybe the tires were big 205-60-14?

Did you see a 300SD badge? The 380SEL and 500SEL are indistinguishable from the 300SD except the back doors and cabin are about 4" longer and the badges are different.

It was a 300 SD, maybe the tires were larger, but it was an awesome looking sd.
