I was 21. Bought the car in the summer of 2002, and have had it for a bit more than a year and a half now.

I've got you all beat - 18. I paid $400 for a 1962 190c with a shot clutch and a bad transmission.

Never thought I would own a Benz, bought my first one as a wreck. Should have been a parts car, but I put it back together. Have driven it over 1.5 years and with another parts car to boot, still have less than $1500 in it.
