Another one for the stable!
Hi, I just won the bid for the 83 300D on Ebay located on Long Island. Turns out it was located 20 minutes from where I live so I went to check it out..
The guy selling it gets cars from dealer trade ins. This vehicle was traded to a Mercedes dealership on LI and resided in one of our nicer neighborhoods$$$$$ The car has minimal rust. As much or less than my TD. It was DEFinately a garaged car. The motor is tight, clean, and NO OIL LEAKS. Even the A/C works. Heat etc was good. Interior very nice. The bad is the tranny slips in first and a bit in second. Possibly some vacumn/bowden cable adjustments. Even if I go and have the tranny freshened. It was still worth the $910 I paid!!! Considering just a motor sold the other day for $1100on EBAY I feel good. Still not sure what I will do with it. I will go through it and fix what needs to be done and possibly sell it. Give me some money for future projects. Who knows?.Though that was the plan with my 83TD until the wife came in my shop right when I finished polishing it and saw the shine from that beutiful midnight blue paint. Now my wife has an 83 TD!!!!!lol Hey, How do you do the "link thing" so you could click and it will take you to the Ebay listing? I wanted to do that here. Thanks Mike |

Simply go to the Ebay page with the car. At the top of your browser the URL is listed. Simply copy this by clicking on it once, it is now high-lighted. Now right click on it. You should now have an option to copy it. Click on copy. Go to a message like the one I am in now. Right click, select paste, you should see the URL you selected earlier:
Nice car for the money! Let us know how that tranny works out. -Dale |
