Doing more than you should is a bad idea. Simply removing the handle and a washer for access to the o-ring that has to be replaced shouldn't expose the IP to a runaway risk.

Good. I could not find that old post, but I thought it said that there was risk if the handle did not engage internally properly, but I just could not find it.

I think the dealer gave me the wrong size o-rings. I just went by there to pick some up and made a little longer trip to a Bosch diesel repair center and bought some of the Bosch ones. The ones Bosch gave me are larger and I remember the ones that came with the filter to be larger. I buy from them a lot so I got them for free, but even so, I think they are wrong. I'll see what it looks like when I pull it out.
