My wife is going to be out of town for a couple of days. I'm fixing one of my other cars and plan to wash the valve covers, the air chamber, and the disassembled throttle body in the dishwasher. Instead of DW soap, I'm going to run simple green through it. DW soap raises hell on the cast aluminum parts. I also plan to bring one of my old cast iron pots upstairs and putting it in the dishwasher in case I totally hose the thing. Opps, geez honey, ya can't wash cast iron in there? Gee, I never knew that !! :-)

I washed a dirty ashtray in the dishwasher once and dishwasher caught on fire!

Turned out what I "thought" was an ashtray was one of those dumb huge candles.

Sure fooled me and cost me a new dishwasher. I felt dumb.

I wonder if anybody has used gasoline in the dishwasher yet?

I'm sure that would really clean well.
