Alda Nightmare... beware
I picked up an '85 300D a month or so ago... real nice shape... Drives/Drove real well until I started messing with it.
I noticed the Alda had already been adjusted and it looked to me like it was most of the way out. As a baseline, I screwed it in a few turns and something snapped... there is a little spring in there that was disintegrated.. Bottom line is I have no Alda, no boost, and virtually no Turbo. Looking at the archives, seems my options are as follows 1) get new rebuild Injection Pump since the alda is calibrated to the IP and it is not available as a separate part. 2) Go to an authorized Bosch shop and get them to calibrate the IP and hopefully put on a new Alda. 3) Try to find a used one and hope it will work...\ 4) Plug the hole and hope for the best and try to forget... Anything I'm leaving out?
