anyone for a 300sd with over 600,000 miles?

Hello people,
A doctor who lives in the same building as I do has a 300sd, don't know what year? He just recently got himself into a E300 turbodiesel with low miles. The 300sd is just parked in the garage, he is going to call me and let me know what he is going to do. The car has overway over 600,000 miles, exact mileage not known because odometer hasn't been working for a long time. Car is in good condition!! good looking body (black), Runs good!! Runs good Runs good!!! I don't think I can see this as a parts car even though it has high miles, I mean car is intact!! I'll post again once I know more about price and other details. I may just buy it myself!!! Anyone else interested.

At least put up some pics. My bro-in-law's '82 had 440,000 when he got rid of it. It was a ***** to start but once running it was like a tank. That is the highest mileage I've ever seen.

Does it show 600K on the odometer? The photo of that alone would be worth seeing.

You know what stinks about these cars? We need an odometer that reads in millions, not 100's of thousands!

Post pics ASAP, my friend.

If someone on the forum gets this car, if the car lasts another 400,000 miles, maybe you can get something from MB, maybe a C 30 CDI sports diesel or even the S400CDI, the grandchild of the 300SD?

I bet Turbodiesel could get it to 1,000,000 in a few years!

Theurig,

If you are not interested, pls give me the details as my co-worker is in the market.

You figure soemthing with that many miles should not fetch too much.

Thanks

HAHA!!

Do you really think MB would GIVE somebody a free car these days? In the 70's and 80's it might have been diferent, but with crysler and other figures in the company trying to pinch every penny off parts and cars, they would probably laugh in your face.

BUT, if they really are desprate to get their image back to what it used to be in pre-crysler days, they might give it some thinking.
