Thumbs up After Brake work - rear brake lights stay on?

Any clues as to what would cause my rear tail brake lights to come on after flushing my brakes?

Out on a limb here but,
You flushed the brakes. Is the brake pedal in the same position? Otherwise has the pedal moved towards the floor causing the brake light switch to be applied always???? A leak in the master cylinder, causing this?

Check the brake light switch on the brake pedal. See if its making contact all the time.

I just peered up in there and played with that lil switch... the lights operate as normal again.

I thought it was perhaps some saftey alert thing.

It appears that you have fixed the rear brake lights, but have you checked the front brake lights?
These often come on if the brakes are not greased suffucuently .

I don't think he has to worrry about that. AFAIK, it was not an option till 87 and he has an 85 300 SD so he is safe.

lol... well here's a cheap laugh...

The dirtbag that owned this car before me didn't even change the lil wear sensors on the front calipers.

Upon further examination, the rear rotors are beyond turning and it appears the fronts are too. Good news is the caliper(s) in question stopped catching and all is well until I rebuild this brake system.
