240d question

I have a 1982 240d with 224k miles that I bought last year and has been stored over the winter. It started first crank after sitting for four months. The valves have been adjusted and it runs strong except for this instance. When warmed up and stopping with car in gear, (auto transmission) the engine seems to idle quite rough and shakes quite a bit. The problem does not seem to exist when the the engine temp has not reached normal which has been around 90C. I tried disconnecting the ERG valve but it still acted the same.
Any suggestions?
Thanks for any replies.

This could be quite a few things. But I would first look at the engine mounts, engine shock, and damper on the 240D
When they go bad this is how it can act. Try this before we get into the injectors, idle, etc.

Dave

PS And if your engine mounts are rubbery or compressed. Then the transmission mount is probably the same.

Just solved this problem in my 240D. Then I noticed th muffler shaking quite a bit, so I replaced the donuts for the muffler. That was a $12 repair, that felt good for a change.
