No. You need electronics to fool the computer on that model.

That, or convert to a pressurized wastegate, and bypass the computer entirely... this may not work on 606 turbo models though. Works fine on the 602/603 turbos.

Hi Everyone, hi Brian... I just finished reading this thread from the begining and to be honest, I am VERY suprised that is still actual and live.

For the start I would like to introduce me and what I am doing. My name is Paul and 2 years ago I decided to transforme my Jeep Cherokee ´88 to a nice and reliable car...

My car was 2.1 Turbo Diesel (59kw) and when turbo starts going wrong I sold whole engine and start thinking about an engine swap.
I made decision that mercedes diesels are the best diesel engines ever made so I bought 1991 W124 300 turbo diesel mercedes as donor and took the engine with automatic transmission out.

I get the engine (OM 603.960, 147 hp) rebuilt as well and get it ready for swap.

And now, I would like to ask you for your help.
From the inside it was completely rebuilt and now I would like to get rid of all power taking things which are not necessary...

I am very pleased that Brian made a kit for EGR valve taking off. Is it still available Brian?

I would like to add some pictures of my engine and could you tell me what can I disconnect and what not please?

I am sure I do not need all the mess but need to use mercedes auto transmission..

Do you anyone has any prospect with engine and transmission parts description?

Thanks very much

Welcome to the forum.

Where are you and this 603 engine located? I'm taking a guess that it's not in the US??
