1987 300D Non brake disc -related brake shudder...
Could there be possibly another factor causing the front brakes on my new used 1987 mercedes 300D to shudder? I dont think the shudder is being caused by the usual reason, warped brake rotors, because it only happens on an intermediate basis.
Sometimes it doesnt happen at all. I have determined whether it varies with speed, or suddenness of stopping,. The time it was most severe was when I applied the brakes during a sharp turn at high speed. Just a dumb hunch, is the ABS acting mischieviously? |

I have had a worn steering knuckle do that.

Thats true...
once i read heavy braking puts a strain on your Front End load bearing components--i a have not started a detailed analysis of my new used car, ie even taken off the tires and put it on Jackstands to see whats going on..I havent even changed the oil...
