300D A/C comes on at start then shuts off
If I have the fan selector on Max the A/C and blower will kick on for a split second when I start the engine then shut off. The compressor is engaging.. at least it sounds like it is disengaging when the system shuts down.
I've swapped the ACC unit with the one in my wifes '83 300D to no avail. FYI my ACC unit works just fine in her car. Where should I start to look for a problem?

Hi JamesStein;
I have an 83 300SD and mine has done the same thing as you describe... And only when it was really hot outside... I have found that by going out to the fuse box and reseating the ac fuse it would work for a while... I changed the fuse, even though it looked and checked out OK... Don't know if this will help you at all, but for what it is worth...
