Unusual window problem

Well at least it's unusual to me. My daugther drove our '83 300CD to school yesterday with the drivers window open. When she left to come home she found the window wouldn't go back up.....no noise, no power. Later that day we found the passenger read window wouldn't operate either. I know both windows functioned OK last week. Does anyone know why windows on a diagnal (front driver / passenger rear) would both quit? Seems like too much of coincidence for both to go at the same time. I checked fuses........all OK. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Check your fuses. I believe that the two window motors you are having trouble with are on the same fuse.

This time my daughter checked the fuses. When she removed the window fuse it crumpled in her hand. Replaced fuse.. ..both windows now work.
