Odometer

I have an odometer and trip odometer that are inoperable. I think I remember something about there being a VDO repair shop in Austin that I could send my odometer off to. Is it still around, and is there any place in Houston that could do it? I'm going to get quotes to see if it'll be cheaper to send it off or let my indy do it in town.

Use the search tool....there is a ton of stuff out there on your problem. Every 123 has this problem, usually before 200k. It's a DIY project or there are repair shops that can do it for you.

Good luck!

They are repairable yourself without too much difficulty. However, if you're going to send it to somebody, why not support a forum member and send it to Continental Imports? The owner is Steve Brotherton, who moderates the tech help section as stevebfl.

(Edit: their web site is currently down, but that is the correct address)

This place is in Austin: http://www.speedometer.com.

They're cool. The other day I chatted with them about getting Marlene's speedo back on track...learned a lot from a short phone call.
