I want a W123 300TD wagon cargo cover
I've done many searches here and elsewhere.
I would really like a retractable cargo area cover for my 83' 300TD. Since I have no trunk, anything I want out of sight just sits in a cardboard box and the carpet is fading in the sun. Does anyone know of a "universal" cargo cover, that can by placed in with tension rods, like a horizontal retractable window shade? I don't want to put holes in the car to anchor it. If I need it out of the way, it would be nice to loosen it like a shower curtain rod and just stow it. Or, has anyone purchased one designed for another car that they know would do the job, size wise? I know us W123 300TD owners are a small niche.

Try posting a "wanted" ad in the parts forum. You could maybe get an OEM cargo cover out of a parts car. My wagon has one that mounts to the seatbacks. Apparently they came standard on cars without the 3rd seat. It's a nice unit. Besides the cargo cover, it includes a separate mesh divider that runs up to the ceiling. Great for keeping my dogs out of the backseat!
Short of that, here's another simple idea: Get a piece of fabric and attach velcro tabs to it and to the corners and sides of your cargo area. It won't roll out of the way, but it would solve your problem.
