Fogging the skeeters
Went to see a friend on the 4th of july.
When we arrived at his house, his wife met us in the front yard. "He is out fogging the fields in the junk 240D"... What???? She explained: He picked up 55 gallons of mosquito fogging solution. I borrowed her yard jeep and ran out to find him on their 85 acres. Looking for the big cloud found him fast. Here is a graphic of what I found. Note: The 240D is more rust than car = real junk metal. Yes, he cut the roof off and ripped out the rear seats to do this. Last edited by whunter; 07-05-2004 at 07:18 PM. |

Oops
Sorry, forgot to flip the graphic, now corrected.
The tube goes to a check valve. The check valve splits too four tubes welded into the exhaust manifold. The end of each tube is pinched to spray. He did the total alteration in four hours from junk on hand. The engine has a bad rod knock and transmission has only 1 & 2. The only thing worth salvage is the hood star. |

Whunter, do you have a picture of it? It would be a good one to post in the "Who's got the most rust and still drives thread".

Crud
I called him last night.
He left it in the fields, someone took it partying through the fields, and then set it on fire. He thinks it burned out naturally and rain put out the cinders. The wreck is gone to scrap metal. No insurance on it, because he treated it as a tractor and never took it on the road. I did ask if he had any pictures, no luck. A thief you can understand, but a vandal is just evil. |

That sounds almost as bad as my story I recently posted in the "relaince on junkyards" thread.
Aw shucks!
