There's a really nice maple yellow '82 240D that's subject of a major feature in the current issue of MBCA's "The Star" magazine.
Nice history and photos (including a center pages spread) of a car owned by a California couple since '84. It's also a near-double of my own maple yellow '81.
A modest, competent, attractive machine; and one of the cars that says "mercedes-benz" to most readers of this forum.
BTW...the letters column of this Star issue contains many comments from owners unhappy with the low reliability, high cost, and many other low-quality drawbacks that have creeped into recent models. Shame there's nothing this simple and robust in the current MB lineup, or the current crop of autos in general.
