1998 E300TD glow plugs/engine light
Hello - new to the forum (and to mercs!)
I just purchased this 1998 e300td (had to get it in Chicago as they are pretty scare used these days) and am about to try to get a dash light indicating enging electronics and the glow plug light to turn off. I am going to try to replace the glow plugs today and see what gives. Any ideas on how to test the glow plugs on this car for a newbie? (I know how to use a voltmeter and wrenches, but would LOVE to find a repair book on this car). |

A great post on glow plug replacement is here.
The technical info on the car is here, but it will cost you.

I wish I had seen that post before I did the replacement!
I did it quite diffferently - I removed the intake manifold as one part, with some wrist machinations from underneath the car to unbolt the manifold, then changed the plugs and put it all back together. Works fine now - just have to go to autozone! thanks for the link to the post. |
