Lets talk headgaskets and bolts

I plan on making a few HP in my OM602 this summer.

It needs a new gasket. All the VW diesel tuners are running a straight copper gasket, is this needed over OEM?

I'd also like to switch to headbolts, does a brand like ARP have a set for us?

What VW tuners are you talking about? None of the IDI or TDI forums I visit use copper, just the normal gasket.
Copper is great if you want to take off the head every few weeks to fix coolant and oil leaks.

ARP does not have any MB diesel stud kits. You would have to get with them to assemble what you need and maybe work out putting together a kit to market.

The mentioned VW is an IDI 1.6 with a new hydraulic head.

I'll go with a stock OEM gasket from the dealership. I'll also get into contact with ARP when the time comes.

I'd be interested in ARP studs as well, be sure to post what you find.
