OM617 Injectors..What is everybody doing??

SO what is the trick set-up on OM617.951 injectors....looking for 300-350 flywheel horsepower. I will have everything else to make those numbers just have not found a clear answer on what can be done to the injectors.

Yes the car in my Sig has the OM617.952 but I am in process on another engine.Mainly to get around the pilot bearing issue on my 4 speed conversion.I also have a few tricks I want to try inside the engine.

Thanks

Custom internals. A 617 can't hold up to that much power. Even a 603, with an extra piston/rod to bear the load, can only handle 300hp.

I dont believe they are doing that with--A OM.617!--It just wont Breathe well enough with 'pre-crossflow' two-valver head, no matter How big the turbo is!

--(The Green wagon didnt last much longer than that vid apparently!)

Best you're gonna get (And many have tried!) is around the 200 FW-BHP...
--And, Thats Pushing it!

They Are however, getting 400-500 BHP--From the Turbo OM.606 DOHC, 'Quad-Valve' engine....
Thats the one to go for if you're looking for real power....

--Anyway, the Injectors are the least of the issues when tuning the M.B Indirect Injected engines.....

Here in Finland is dynod 617 341hp in original internals.
With big turbo torgue come high rpm than little, so internals last higher.
And here we go original injector nozzles. I also have originals on my 605 477hp engine.

And that green wagon with iron engine you all talk about had almost 4bar boost when rod come on highway

603 engine with original internals has dyno almost 500hp
And 603 with 606 rods 534hp

All engines had original injectors

Jeemu, your post has me LOL-ing. I can't believe these engines! Fantastic. Good to hear you guys are keeping the torque down at low revs. It would be cool to see someone do it with a custom ALDA rather than making all that smoke but whatever works.

Here we talk about voimasavu = power smoke
There is fev variation of alda. Mynä has done new one and it seems work fine.

I did also new my self, because original start drop fuel when use big boost = over 2bar. Original is fully open at 1bar and that is much too soon. Too much smoke.

Here is how i do it

The 722.3 is rumored to be rated for about 290lb-ft, or for the civilized, 390N*m. While it is reasonable that such a rating should depend somehow on the rotational speed of the input shaft, I don't know where to find the information to answer your specific question.

Does that fit on 617? Starter is left hand.
