I've never paid super close attention to it though. |
There are actually two (2) types: one is rebuildable and the other has an end which appears to be staked in the corners, so you are correct. You most likely have the one which is staked in the corners.

Just a little more positive feedback.
I took the scenic route home today with one particular hill in mind. In the past I had to downshift to 4th to maintain 60mph going up that hill, today I was able to maintain 60mph in 5th gear. Only difference? Greazzer's spring. |
First batch of 10 sold and all thumbs up.
Second batch of 10 is now received and for sale. (one is committed for my #315 injector sale). Thanks in advance ! PM if interested. |
I received my Performance OFV Friday and put it in a little while ago. I took the car (a 1977 300D NA) for a short 5 mile run and was very pleasantly surprised. The difference is very noticeable even on my non-turbo car. I don't normally put much faith in "seat-of-the-pants" performance evaluations, and lord knows I've not had my seat-of-the-pants calibrated in quite some time, but this car is now much more responsive. I'll try to take the stock OFV apart tomorrow and measure the spring. My hunch is that my stock spring is considerable shorter than spec. So, perhaps I would have seen good improvement by simply re-sizing my spring. But I can tell you I'm a happy guy right now. :D
Thanks Greazzer!! |
Thank you Sir.
Spring length is not the "key" so to speak. So, for those folks out there who are planning on removing their spring, stretch it out, and re-install. That is not a great idea. Just a FYI . |
I could not find a spring. Finally cranked it for 40 seconds, and she fired up.Must have lost pressure at injection pump.

Well, I've got about 65 miles on my new Performance OFV and I don't think I could be more pleased! The short of it is - smoother idle, quieter idle, better throttle response and quieter engine at all rpm's. This much improvement pretty well confirms that my stock OFV was operating well below optimum.
Thanks for a GREAT product Greazzer! |
Yes this does improve performance. Throttle response is more robust and the engine revs up much quicker and feels stronger. I saw an improvement with a new stock OFV from the dealer but this modified one is a bigger improvement.
Highly recommended! |

Wanted to provide a quick "summary"
15 out of 15 with two thumbs up. 5 remaining for sale out of the current batch of 10. |
I'm taking my IP off the engine right now and I'll be able to tell if this will work for my setup.

Hi KarTek, The performance overflow valve is headed your way ASAP -- this weekend hopefully! Shoot me a PM with your info please. No money needed. :D Got word from Tomnik that you were the first one to buy his Floyd 7.5mm elements. The R&D community is very appreciative for that trust. There is always the need for the "first one" to make the jump and place that trust in a new product. The elements were a huge leap. It is such a waste to not complement the elements without the OFV. Consider it Tomnik's either really late Christmas gift or a really early one ...:P Greazzer |
I'm in, can you send me three?
