I can only speak for CIS fuel systems (VW), where you only care what the pressure is when the pump is on and whether or not it drops significantly after the car sits. It really doesn't change otherwise. I'm assuming you'd want to rig up a sending unit to go to a gauge on the dash if you need to see it all the time. Easy to do though, VDO-type sending units are about $20.
