Ok it looks like we have two generous offers to host the meet, thanks guys. I would love to host it at my house, just don't have the yard.

The meets are 10 times better with food, ect. I'll offer to bring some food and drinks ect.

So it looks like we have two awsome offers to host the meet:

Fred's offer to host it in RI.

And CJ's offer to host on Long Island.

Thanks for the offers guys! What does the forum think? I'd almost lean towards RI because it is more central.

Hmm

There are a ton of options in Rhode Island for good meeting spots...

Colt State Park in Bristol

Narragannsett Beach has a huge parking lot and is beautiful in the summer

The house that was offered to us as a meeting spot

Ocean Drive in Newport, a Convoy past the mansions would be awesome, finally arriving at the parking lots at the ocean front

I am not sure when, but It'd be nice for a date to be set soon so we can all mark it down on our calendars/take the day off from work.

Yeah Ri sounds good to me as well. Both are about the same distance from me so, it doesn't really matter to me. But I think the trun out would be better in RI, because it is pretty central.

So CSX293 any interest still in hosting it like you offered? What weekend in June would be good for you? It would be nice if we can set the date soon, so that everyone can mark it on their calander and keep that day open.

New England Meet

Count me in. I also have my place we can meet as a back up. I can accomadate around 20 cars. We have 4 acres with 2 1/2 cleared. Also a 3 bay garage with a lift just in case! I am in South Western RI. North Kingstown/Exeter. 10 Minutes from historic Wickford Seaport and Narragansett bay, 20 minutes to the beaches and Newport. 1 minute, maybe 30 seconds from Exeter country club (GOLF, open to the public).

I'd come but there is a big shark fishing tourney that my boat is in that weekend of the 24th. I'm bringing the SL up to LI this summer... could I come anyways if I bring pictures of my two diesel wagons?

You better come MTU, I'd like to meet you. Talking MB's is great fun but so is talking boats.

2006 New Englands

Hi MTU,

I got my 100 ton masters license back in 1980. There's nothing like the smell of diesel ( a real mans cologne) first thing in the AM. Bring your boat down into Narragansett bay and dock right in Wickford. We can have a few Benz's meet you there. It's only 20 minutes from Warwick and 10 minutes from Exeter.

Jack

I've got a Grand Banks 42. Sounds like we should leave the Mercedes at home and meet on the water. I am home ported in Groton, CT.

The drive from NJ upward is terrible because it goes through some very unpleasant freeways around NYC, and CT isn't more pleasant either. It'll probably take like 4 hours to negotiate that traffic one way... If it was in NY, NJ, PA, DE, or even MD, I'd come... Too bad the NJ experience wasn't good to you guys - sounds like you didn't ask the right person to find a good place to meet in NJ!!

The weekend of June 24th is out for me, too.
