Sounds like a great time was had by all. I wish I could have made it, and I was really looking forward to it, but it just wasn't to be this time. Hopefully there will be another.

I'm glad everyone had fun,

I heard several folks ask if you were coming, so you were missed!

Hey JimmyL ,had an idea for a picture shot for next year, have everyone stand alongside of their car with the hood down ,may even get a high stance from a tractor for the shot with the help of Randys old German frontloader.

Thanks again to Randy and Colleen for the excellent hospitality. I don’t think we could have asked for a better setting.

I went on to College Station to catch a baseball game and meet some friends for a late dinner, so I took I-45 back. Only incident I had on the return home was getting stopped for 72 in a 65 just north of Fairfield. Luckily he let me off with just a warning.

Jarrett my camera is at home with your pictures on it...will email them to you tonight.

Thanks everyone for making a non-diesel feel so welcome.

I think JimmyL took W123 honors and Kip Foss got the "everything else" category with his W115 (I think).

Kip also got the Iron Butt award for driving in from Corpus!

Likewise! Also enjoyed learning about the beer co-op. Sorry I had to bolt before you guys got back from the tour.

Definitely keep in touch, and keep me posted on the delivery progress. I had to wait a few months for the Mini a couple of years ago, so I can sympathize somewhat.

A GTG, unlike any other.™

In all honesty, the attendees made the GTG what it was! Colleen and I simply offered a venue. We sure had a lot of fun hosting the GTG and, Gawd willing, will do another in the fall.

At Colline des Baies, we have a simple goal: Our hope is at the end of the day, when folks head out through our gates to go home, they are talking about all the fun they had and, that they want to come back soon.

Hopefully, we accomplished that last weekend.

Thank you,
CW & RL

First semi-annual Berry Hill Farm Benzomaniac GTG facts and figures:

Attendance:
23 Mercedes-Benz™
Notables attending:
Bodyart's Uber blu 126 (cream puff) and Henry Schuman's 124 wagon w/500,000+ miles (Henry won Funkiest Ride award).
Most unexpected attendee:
Palangi (Paul Lange)
Longest Drive award:
Kip Foss - drove from Corpus
Best 126 chassis:
Tarbe's Millie...only 83k miles.
Shell, in your wildest dreams, did you ever think your beautiful car could get upstaged? Both Shell's and Tarbe's cars were immaculate!!!
Best 123 chassis:
I cannot remember and I left my notes at home
Best "other" chassis:
I cannot remember this, was it Kip?, I left my notes at home
Other stuff:
  • 1/750 of the entire US population of diesel 124 wagons was present (Henry and Justin's wagons)
  • Rashakor's 116 DOES look really good with painted-put Bundts
I apologize to Kevin (Fuzzball) and the last couple of folks that I'd promised a tour of the place. I know you waited and it was getting cold...I'll make up for it next time. Tours always take me longer than I plan for.

Total Miles

Did we ever get a tally on the cummalative diesel driven miles off all the odometers? 2MM? It has to be a pretty big number.

Randy, don't worry about the tour, I got to say goodbye to Colleen before I left and she invited me to come out again, so no harm, no foul.

My girls were coming in from visiting the outlaws in Midland, so I wanted to arrive home when they did...as it turned out, I beat them. When I left, they were about 5 miles from rr620 on 71. I beat them by 10 minutes....what a difference all those traffic lights on 620 make!

I can't wait for the next one.

Unfortunately, not everyone heard (or chose not to disclose that we were trying to get mileage.

On the south end, my wagon (280,000), my SDL (245,000) and Henry's wagger (580,000) totaled +1meg.

Take an average of 225,000 and you'd have over 5 million accumulated miles in that group.
