I'd like to thank Erik (Prez808) that was a great drive. I love driving new roads, and this drive let me do that. The meet was great.

After the meet we (Justin, Garrett, Nick, and I) went back to Sac. We didn't drive back on 80 like usual. We took the 4 east, and then the 160 north. It was a great drive. Fallowed the Sacramento River all the way from the bay to Sacramento. A very nice drive. We didn't take any pics... because we were all tired. But we did go for pizza after getting back to Sac. It was a great day.

Before planning for this meet started, we there was talk of maybe having a meet in the delta, and after that drive home I can tell you it would be a nice place to cruse around. Lots of open spaced for pictures and interesting things to look at. all the wind power generators, and the ton of draw bridges, and my mom tells me that on some roads out in the delta the state runs ferries across the rivers... free of charge (better then the bridges in the bay area!)

Favorite part is meeting everybody! Everyone was really cool. In addition, I like having my timing checked by the timing light. Thanks Sam and tell Karl thanks also.

Also thanks to dbtk of benzworld.org for giving me an oil cap and to boardmonger's friend (I apologize for I forgotten his name!) for giving me a triangle clip so my triangle will not be sitting in my garage and now can live in my trunk!

That type of stuff would always make me want to show up to these gatherings!

Driving back home for almost 5 hours!

Lastly... Thank you Pres808 and Boardmonger for all your work on this!

Hey guys, lets see, this was another fun GTG

As to what I enjoyed:
Meeting a new group was really cool. This meet had a lot of people who hadn't been to the previous gatherings, so it was a fresh crowd. While the group was small, that is also a good thing because I got to talk to just about everyone and I think I know everyone's name. The meeting spot was good because there was so much room (except that VOLVO), and the road Erik picked out was very fun with some nice scenery. I was also glad everyone who came on the drive managed to stay with the group, but it is a LOT easier with only 12-13 cars.

Things I didn't like:
Again the drive home. I had to rush because my friend was running late for work, and there were some backups. But on a serious note, I will say planning wasn't as good as it has been. Erik did a great job with the route, but meeting at the park was a bit of a hassle, especially in shuttling back and forth from eating, then waiting to go drive. I understand how it worked well at the Sacramento meet because we did not drive, but for this one it wasn't the best way to do things. Yes parking would have been tough at the resturant, but if we had a bigger group, the shuttling may have turned off a few people.

The planning was also not the best, and I am partly to blame. Organizing these events is tough, and with school, work and the family I didn't have enough time to alert everyone this was going down. The timing was good, but I think next time we need a more stringent schedule. I am all for hanging out and talking, but some of us had to miss out on the entire drive because we departed much later than planned.

As for the next meet, I am going to spearhead that effort. I was talking with Nick (CubanDiesel) and we were talking about a Peninsula run. I want to meet up in Woodside and hang out, then drive up highway 84 west to La Honda and eat lunch there. There is a great resturant, but we cannot remember its name. From there we want to continue west to the coast and then drive up highway 1 to Half Moon Bay. To finish we will drive east back over the hills on highway 92 and finish at either the Vista Point on 280 or if its open, the Pulgas Water Temple. I was thinking of doing this either mid-september or maybe mid-october. I would also like to appeal to more gassers, because at this meet we had 3, so for those not so into diesel's can still be very involved.

Anyways, I still owe some pictures. Stay Tuned...

Sorry I missed this GTG (so close to home too) but was vacationing in Fairbanks last week so couldn't attend.

Keep me on the mailing list for the next one.

That's a great idea. I've been across most of them, you can plan a route and cross one after another. It will take some planning, though, because the ferries are small and hold only a few cars at a time.

Pictures as promised. I did not get any of Dbtk's coupe (which he should NOT sell), but just imagine a mint 85 300cd. I also forgot to thank Sam and Karl for their timing check and basic mechanical advice. My transmission is shifting much better now, but I still have to get the banjo bolt and check my aux. fan.

I think it was one of the best meets ever..... i mean yeah it was small, but big supprises come in small packages.

I just wish i had my 17's on at the time and not some beat up 14s with nasty tires..... Oh well.

Wow, I am sorry I missed it this time. Really a great bunch of folks in this crowd. Must have been a beautiful day too and a great ride.

Summer plans I guess kept attendance down a bit though

Hi guys.
Just wanted to say thanks to Boardmonger for putting this together and Prez808 for the route. Sorry I had to bail mid-drive, but I had to get home. Thanks to Samuel M. Ross for doing the timing for all of us and thanks to Karl for your expertise. Thanks to everyone else who was giving Shawn and myself pointers on my 300sd. I look forward to meeting up again with all of you soon
