So ... I'm waiting to hear back from a local restaurant about the cost of catering this GTG. This event has grown every year and I think it's at the point where it's too much for me to handle all the setup, cooking, cleanup, and still get to visit with everyone while they're here.

The other thing I've been thinking is that the cost of the party is getting up there. It's also increased each year, so I'm going to take donations if anyone is willing. I could take donations via my paypal account (PM me for account info if you're interested) or cash donations on the day of the GTG.

This is NOT a requirement, only a request to help me deal with the cost of the party and maintain an awesome relationship with my wife.

Thanks guys.

I'll update with the list of attendees later. The list is getting BIG already.

At TDI events we usually have a coffee can / donation jar that handles the costs of putting the event on. Unlike PeachParts TDIClub is a non profit, so anything left over just gets donated back to pay for the hosting. Not sure what would be done in this case.

We also generally treat the G2Gs like a potluck... everyone brings something to enjoy. VeeDubTDI and I have access to Restruant Depot, so we can get bulk supplies cheap

This isn't a PeachParts sanctioned event. I obviously met most of you on this site, but the party is completely planned, executed, and paid for by me.

People have brought food items in the past, but it's not something that I've relied on and I want to make sure there's PLENTY of food and drink for everybody.

I'm still waiting to get a cost on getting the GTG catered since, even if cheaper food can be purchased, it still needs to be prepared, set up, and cleaned up afterward. These GTGs take hours to plan and about 3 days worth of store trips, setup and clean up.

I'm not trying to make a profit and that wasn't even in my radar of thought. The cost of food, drink, plates, cups, napkins, utensils, awards/prizes, toilet paper, etc. is worth the great time and getting to see everyone but it's not costing the $500-$600 it did the first couple years. I'm into thousands now.

I'm not complaining at all, and I'm willing to lay out the cash for it, I just thought it could be a better event for everyone (mostly me though) if catered.

If I were to make any profit, it would go toward making the next year's GTG bigger and better. If that's a problem, I can give the profits to a charity.

Count me in. I will probably bring Bodhi again, though I'll consider taking Chase up instead. We'll see!

We'll be there and want to help with the costs, Chad. I doubt there would ever be a "profit" for you, considering the fact that you've put these on all by yourself in the past. Your hospitality is legendary! Thanks so much for doing this every year.

Retirement Rules!

We can be there. I'll think of something wonderful to bring in addition to my Bride and 300CD. Will also bring a $ contribution.

So it looks like getting the event catered isn't going to work. In order to have enough food throughout the day, it's like $28 per person. At a reasonable cost we'd only have deli food that would last about 2 hours.

I'm thinking I'll go with pulled pork or hamburgers, hotdogs, roasted veggies, and probably smoked chicken breasts again. I'll also get started on making the Tri-Star of home brews and we'll have sodas and bottled water as well.

It's more work but at least there will be food available ALL DAY not just for a two hour window. It's important to me to have food available the whole time since people come at different times and many stay into the wee hours and end up having two meals (plus snacking) while they're here.

Feel free to add to the menu with food, sides, or drink. Everything is appreciated but the most important thing is that we all get to see each other again, check out our cars, and meet some new faces in our awesome MB community.

Chad,

Save a space for me and the 300D. Odds are I'll be solo.

I have had to cancel every time I have sent an RSVP. I need to wait another 2 weeks if that is okay. I am trying to find the time to finish a long list prior to a road trip any where. If I can make it it will be the 300SD since it is closer to completion than the 500E.

We might have an issue... The MIL needs to go in for back surgery. If is not able to be on her own for the day, we won't be able to come... I am hoping she makes a fast recovery...

I'll be there with a buddy (assuming neither of our cars commit suicide).

We will be riding up in my little truck, might bring a 300STDT along if we can get it running in time.

I'll bring some cash and 151 for the party

It's been an awesome day of brewing and beer tasting. The Chocolate Cream Stout and American Wheat just got put into primary fermentation. My buddy Bob is making the White House Honey Ale next week and we'll have the Tri-Star of Homebrews for the 6th year in a row.

I'll update the list of attendees in a few days. Let me know if you need the address via PM and I'll get back to you right away!

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone!

79 days to go!!!

Anyone that still needs the address, send me a PM and I'll get right back to you.
6th Annual Southeast PA Benzfest
Saturday, August 24, 2013 - 11am until ?

We can start at 11am and go until whenever. I'm still figuring out what food to do for this year. I'm thinking pulled pork and rolls, grilled veggies, and beverages. If anyone is into bring any food items it would be greatly appreciated.

Let's get a head count so I can plan for the food and drink.

I live about 1 mile from the Montgomery Mall to give you an idea of where I am. I'm between Allentown and Philadelphia. I'll give my address via PM to everyone that will be coming.

I just bottled the American Wheat, put the Chocolate Cream Stout in secondary, and the Presidential Honey Ale is in primary. The Tri-Star of Home Brews is coming along beautifully.
