I thought puff adders lived in Africa or somewhere. I didn't thinnk they were indigenous to NC. When I was growing up, I saw plenty of water moccasins, copperheads, avarious and sundry other snakes, but never heard of there being anything like a puff adder there.

I've been to Flaming Amy's. My sister lives in Wilmington. I just had a funny thought. they should have named it "Flaming Anus." That would be a good name for a Mexican place . . ..

Rocky Mount

Somebody was pulling your leg re the puff adder, am not sure where they are native but it ain't Rocky Mount.

Are any of y'all ( I am an NC native, we don't say you guys) members of the Mercedes Club of America? I joined recently and went to a tech session last weekend in Chapel Hill.

So far I think Concord is the furthest distance. Maybe we could meet in Raleigh sometime.

Ben

I'm out here at Cape Hatteras - about 3 hours from Rocky Mount. Not many MB's out here on the Outer Banks, so would love to chat with some of y'all in person.

Wasn't there a thread here not too long ago about a GTG somewhere in NC?

I'm in Greensboro - open and available for a GTG.

I just completed a 2 week, 2874 mile 'mental therapy - get away from reality' road trip in my 85 300SD...been home 2 days and I'm ready to go again! So Rocky Mount, or the 'Rocky Mountains' works for me - just tell me when and where!

And PS...This was my first 'road trip' since buying my 126 last October - An amazing road machine! Trip average mpg was 25.8 - with lots of highway miles at a steady full blow - oil level only dropped a little less than a quart.

I'm going to school in Boone, live in Winston-Salem/Lexington/Arcadia/Welcome/Midway (pick whichever of those you've ever heard of and I'm within a stone's throw) and will drive to a GTG that's closer than the coast itself with little provocation, if I'm free.

A little farther West

I'm over in Mooresville, NASCAR land. I have a buddy in Zebulon that I go play auto repair with pretty often. That's just down the road from Rocky Mount.

This is like "old home week". I'm from Roanoke Rapids & have kin in Rocky
Mount. Used to be some good Bar-B-Q places in R. Mount, is Parker's Bar-B-Q
still there?
BTW, there are snakes there called "Swamp Adders". The have a hood that expands when they are disturbed. Kinda look like a mini cobra and are very lethal. Maybe somebody calls them "puff adders". Wish I could do a GTG but too many miles away now.
