Question Should I buy this 1998 E320

with 92,000 miles for $14,900. I've done a lot of searching and reading about this model and have found very little to scare me off--quite the opposite actually

Body has two minor dings, rear seats look worn but other then that it seems to be in typically fantastic MB used-car condition!

Unfortunately, I haven't driven it (bad timing so far) and am as yet not sure enough about it to do a Carfax check but having seen it done in a number of other posts, I will ask if anyone could run one for me (I'd really appreciate it!) VIN #WDBJF65F7WA625564. I know what the other positions indicate but what about 4-8 (JF65F)??

Also, in trying to price it on kbb.com I'm not sure how to tell whether it is a 4-matic??

Thanks in advance as always! Mike

JF65F=
J=210 chassis
F=Sedan
65=model designation (in this case an E320. an E320 4MATIC would be an 82, not a 65, so no this isn't a 4MATIC)
F=the restraint system, in this case F= 3 point belts with ETR on front seats, 3 point belt at rear position, drivers and passenger front airbags, side impact airbag in front.

Gilly

PS the 210 chassis 4MATICs are OK, it's the older 124 chassis 4MATIC which in my opinion should be avoided. (but again this car isn't a 4matic)

Looks like a good deal to me. Have it checked out, repairs from abuse can be expensive.

Why are the rear seats worn? It's the fronts that wear, the rears go on for ever.
