The link isn't working right now, but if you are referring to the W210 DVD, it may be very good. I recently bought the W202 CD and it is an excellent product. The old CDs were basically pdf copies of the paper shop manuals. Folks weren't familiar with the M-B Group system and were hoping for detailed DIY instructions were disappointed. Plus, the old CDs were slooooow! The new CDs and DVDs (for the newer models) are similar to the WIS, but easier to navigate. A job has links to sub items that may be required to complete the original job. There is a button for Complaints and Remedies. Several manuals are included. I'm pretty happy with mine.

WARNING. I am a MAC user at home, so I run Windows applications on a work laptop. The system admin folks decided I needed Acrobat 7, which screwed up most of my pdf stuff. The worst is that it does not work well with the Star Classic CD (which, of course, isn't work related). I have deselected the Display PDF In Browser as the Startekinfo site suggests, but that is only half a fix. Now the links in the repir procedures don't work. The moral of the story seems to be stay away from Acrobat 7 if you want to run the CD.

best manual for basic service on 2002 C230K?

So much information! Can someone help me find a service/maintenace manual for a 2002 C230K? I am in Canada and can't get on the STAR tekinfo site because I don't have a US billing address. I just need info on basic service items like changing coolant, changing power steering fluid, changing brake fluid etc.

Hello! (new member). Service manual required please....

Hello!

I've just joined the forum, looks very interesting!

Can anyone help me with a service / workshop manual for my car - SL280, 1996, Type 129. I've seen various adverts on eBay but is there a reliable source where I can buy one? I recently purchased an ETKA parts DVD from an eBay seller which failed to work! I am UK-based, btw.

Thanks in advance,

Matt

Newbi Service/Repair Manual Help

New 380sl owner. Any suggestions on good service or repair manuals? I've only been able to find a Chilton's. Received poor reviews and seems to be very general...little specific 380 info.

Learning a lot on the Forum!!!

Get the real factory manuals from Mercedes or on e-bay.

You can get the factory CD ROM here:

http://www.classictechlit.mbusa.com/MB/

Cost is about $20.

You may be able to get paper manuals from these folks:

http://www.books4cars.com

The EBay suggestion is a good one, too, but expect the prices to be highly variable and sometimes cutthroat.

Chilton's, Haynes, The MB CD and every relevent paper manual I could find for my 280sl on e-bay. It all adds up to a complete package. The ebay purchases vary, as already stated, in price and the bids come down to the last second...usually. I have about $400.00CAD tied up in info sources.

I am currently looking for a manual for my 5 speed manual transmission circa 1983.

Just kidding. That sounds like it could be a difficult find, especially a hardcopy.
I'll keep an eye out.
Good luck.

To expect baseline results... You must have baseline conditions

Service Manual

These appear to be factory manuals but they are not the same quality as the Bently manuals you can get for BMW's. Navigation around the CD is poor with no internal/embeded links. I would gladly have paid more for something more user friendly and as detailed as a Bently manual.
