WTB: 12 point socket for head bolts
Head bolts for a 87 300sdl 6 cylinder.
Triple square or "XZN" tool is needed to extract them. You can get a 4 or 5 socket set, 1 of which is the 10 mm Double Hex socket needed for the 87 300sdl headbolts at Kragen auto supply. Last edited by whunter; 02-10-2009 at 01:25 PM. Reason: save tech data |

sorry to revive this old thread
but there is a bit of difference in an XZN drive and a double hex - you can jam an XZN bit into a d-hex bolt head but the risk of stripping the hold is very high. The difference is the angle of the teeth in the bit. The xzn is three squares superimposed on each other - while a double hex is two hexes superimposed on one another. Both have 12 points but are different. Toyota engines use bi hex in the cylinder head and a lot of DIY mechanics strip the bolts by using an XZN drive from autozone.
