Hurley/ironwood/NNE wisc

I have used Eric at European Car in Ironwood for parts and advice on both my VW's and mercedes'. Primarily a VW guy but good on the diesel benz's too. 906 932 5720 good to know about as there are a lot of people in that part of the country that won't touch your car if it aint one of the big 3 or a toyota.

Anyone know of any good body shops in the Madison/WI area? I have some rust on my e320 that I'd like to have taken care of.

We're planning to move to Milwaukee soon pending employment. There haven't been any shops in this thread that anybody seems to be happy with.

Can anyone reccomend a shop that is reasonable and works on both diesels and M-100's? ....maybe even Cummins/Dodge engines?

Thanks

Arrow MB shop

If you are looking for a good shop Black Forest Benz in Glendale has had raving (not the mad type ) reviews from our MBCA club. The guy that owns it is a member and has a diesel Mercedes minivan from the 70's. There is a web link @ http://www.mbca-wi.org/sponsors/blackforest.html if you need it.

Welcome to the Frozen Tundra !!!

Black Forest gets 2 thumbs up!

I have a sister who lives in the area, and I oftentimes drop my '00 C230k off for service there. They've always done excellent work and at a very fair price. They even fixed my driver's mirror that I accidentally drove into the side of the garage for $85! It's nice to have a shop that actually FIXES things instead of replacing them all of the time.

Black Forest actually has their own domain now. Their web site is:
http://www.blackforestllc.com/

They're located in Glendale - right off of I-43, and not too far off of
I-94/Hwy. 45. I highly recommend them.

Thanks,
Michael

I take my Benz to Auto Sports & Imports in Kenosha. They specialize in Mercedes and BMW. They do great work and have excellent prices. They are a very busy shop and I know at least 3 colleagues at work that service their cars their and 1 that bought a car there that all are satisfied with them. They sell nice imports too. I drool everytime I drive by there which is about 4 or 5 times a day. They have a cool website too, www.autosportsonline.com.
Hope that helps.

I bought my E430Sport from Auto Sports in Kenosha, through EBay. Good group of people and happy with the purchase. I discovered a couple of hidden issues when I came to pick it up. They didn't complain or anything, just asked if I could wait a few days while they got the parts and fixed it. They were so accomodating, I was leary! I was thinking they just wanted to get rid of the car bad, that must be why they are so good about it. Well, 10,000 miles later, and the car is awesome.

I just read through this thread and some of the recommendations are a little 'dated'.

I'm looking for a good, reputable mechanic or repair shop. I'm in Eastern Waukesha county.

My 1998 C230 has a blown head gasket.

Thanks,

Sour

I bought my BMW 740i Sport from them a few years ago. Car was as described. It came with fresh fluids and brakes. So far, so good.

C230

FYI. The older C class was never known for quality or anything that would improve the MB name. There were a lot of problems with this car as the "bean counters" seemed to be in control of the firm. I, however owned a C280 for 10 years and never had a single problem. I was tempted to buy a BMW but instead bought an '07 E550 which to date has been the best car I have ever driven. I think the folks who kicked out the old management and put in a "car guy" probably did the right thing. Keep in mind that MB will only stay in business if they continue to make " high quality/value cars. This would mean low, inexpensive maintenance and the ability to go 200K miles without continuous trips to the dealer. My car is flawless and I am now and still a MB fan. Of course you always make a big mistake when you buy a used car. It's called "buyer beware.

I have a friend with a 560SL. His ac compressor locked up. The dealer wanted over 5k to change it out and over to 134.

His local indies wanted over 2k for the same work.

I told him try Auto Sports in Kenosha. 1200 later and he's a very happy camper. Compressor, drier, expansion valve, covert to 134.
