Thumbs up Mercedes shop in Roseville, Mi

Found a good repair shop in Roseville, Mi. International Motor Works 27521 Gratiot at I-696. Had my car repaired there and found the owner Carlo Secchi to be very helpful. Checked the car and advised what had to be done now and what could wait a while. Very low pressure sales. Price seemed to be very reasonable also. He worked for a Mercedes dealer which was sold and wnet on his own about ten years ago. Also works on BMW, Jaguar, Ferrari, etc.

Michigan service garages

I just bought a 1993 190E and I'm looking for a good reliable service shop in the Plymouth, Michigan area. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I'm willing to travel a little for good service.
Thanks

I'm just up the road from you (north) and I just started using these guys... because of the convenient location:

Advanced Auto Sport
38410 Grand River Ave
Farmington, MI 48335
(248) 471-2886

They are on Grand River about 1/2 mile EAST of Haggerty Rd. Sam (Owner) knows his cars. I test him, as I know just lots about 94 E420.

Also, this following place has ALWAYS done me well. Rick is the owner. Just a bit further of a drive:

Euro-Tech Motors Inc.
30178 Woodward Ave
Royal Oak, MI 48073
(248) 554-0088

Both places have lots of Mercedes experience. Sam seems to work on mostly Mercedes and BMWs, while I've only seen Mercedes at Euro-Tech. Both charge about $75/hr for labor and use alldata for labor time reference.

By a fellow Mercedes Driver. I was quoted $800 (parts/labor) for a timing chain for my 380SEL. All I gotta do is save that up (which may takes weeks) I will leave feedback after it's done, if I remember.

I would highly advise you to stay away from John & Holger. When John & Holger owned it (about 5 years ago), they were much better.

This post is from my experience with them before i moved down to FL
sometimes you think you have it good!

Bob at John & Holger (Holger's nephew) is the one that told me that "90% of the cars that come in here have the belt tensioner shock cocked liked that. I wouldn't worry about it."

Tensioner bad?

Do yourself a favor and stay away from them. Go to Karl Heinz in Troy or Euro Autoworks on Woodward in Royal Oak.

Thankyou, I'll look into those two shops.

Ironwood/western UP

I've gone to Eric at European Car in Ironwood for both parts and advice. Primarily A VW shop (his father worked at the VW plant in Wolfsburg I believe)
but good on anything German. 906 932 5720. has a couple 123 parts cars and a 126 around I think. surrounded by a sea of VWs. tough to find someone knowlegable about those cars in a remote area. I live in ashland, 35 mi west.

ATTN: Southern MI folks - Don't Deal with Orrin B Hayes!

See above post....

You should not just bring your Benz to anyone you have not tested or are not familiar with. Get to know them. Ask questions. test their knowledge, willingness to share info, ...etc, etc.......my 2 cents.

International Motor Works moved to Warren

They're now on "Easy Street". *laugh*

25154 Easy Street -- take Groesbeck south from 696 and Easy Street is about a mile down on the left.

I went in today to have them check the rear hydraulic system on my '83 300td. Great service so far and I'll be back again soon for a follow-up visit!
