"CEDES WAGON '83, SPECIAL ORDER GREEN, Everything works except air.
My chariot is housed in Somerset Cty, NJ and is waiting for an offer over 750. Leaks oil - don't they all? Carefully driven by a little old lady in tennis shoes. REALLY!

Does this car have rust? You have to look in the fender wells and under the doors. Pictures would be nice. Engine too.

I just got back and all I can say is there must be something wrong with me!
The car does have rust, but about the same as my car, if not less! (More on this below) I should have grabbed it, but for personal reasons I decided against it (nothing to do with car). More on car: Good: Started right up, no heavy smoke. Windows and locks work as should. Seems the Climate Control works, but AC does not. Seats are in great shape Dash has a TINY crack toward the windshield, but would NOT deem a cover needed. Original Becker Radio. ORGINAL OWNER Benz Battery (always a good sign in my book) Rear suspension seems to work as should Rails for roof rack under rear floor, good shape. And other good points, send me an IM and I'll do what I can to help. BAD: Rust: The jackpoints, 1 is pretty bad, 2 are so-so, and 1 is decent. The front fenders forward of the front wheels are not too good but not totally horrid. Passenger side is worse than driver. Floor looks ok, I looked under mats/carpet. Seems drains under hood are clear. There is some light/medium rust on other parts of the car, but nothing that isn't to be expected on a car of this age. Leak, I'm not smart enough to know if it just a lower oil line or something major, I'm going to guess that it is just a line because of the way it looked. I can't reall explain it, the undercarriage is wet with oil, but something tells me it is a line because there is no signigicant wetness above the oil pan and where the line is on the drivers side of the pan. Other stuff: The exhaust looks good, she has the original books, and the service marks are mostly on the lube, etc. But still, at least she *is* the original owner and she has the friggin books! ![]() I DID NOT DRIVE THE CAR. I did shift through the trans. Slight delay going into reverse. All I can say is, I think I'm a big fat stupid dope for not grabbing this car. But if the two hours I took out of my life to go look at helps one of the fine folks here... it is worth it to me. You are all a great bunch of people. And that's all I have to say about that. ![]() ![]() ![]() Hope this helps the members and June... she was very very nice on the telephone. ![]() Pete It is the moss green type. I don't know the right name, but not the dark green. More info: has 214K, front tires good, rears could use new. Last edited by GottaDiesel; 10-15-2004 at 12:05 PM. Reason: More info. |
