if you have all the parts, then it would be an easy swap. nothing crazy involved that you would have to fabricate. just parts for parts.

Yep, several members have done that on here in fact. Easier still given that the 240 frequently came with a 4M anyway; unlike the bigger W123s which only came in auto.

Still available. I had one person who was interested a while ago but there was some missed communication and it fell through, so the car is still available.

$1500 OBO for a car that runs strong with a working air conditioner, is in great exterior and above average interior condition, and has documentation is a steal.

Read back through what the seller has done. There are many costly items that do not have to be worried about.

**btw, I don't know the seller and don't remember ever speaking with him, it just appears from his ad, his pics and the records that it is quite the deal.**

You'll also receive a (cheap) A/C manifold, a Mityvac topsider for oil changes (used exactly once before I decided just to do them the regular way for good measure and experience), the W123 A/C FSM, a NIB water pump, and depending if I still have them, a floor jack and pair of jack stands.

I will be out of the area from Wednesday through Sunday to get an apartment in my new city, Seattle. I will then be back for ~9 days, before I am driving out to Washington for good. If I haven't been able to get a reasonable dollar amount for the car by that point, I'm donating it to charity. They'll probably just scrap it, but I'll be able to get a decent write-off at least.

81 --- What is this?
93 --- Is that your arm or where you trying to show something else?

72 --- The original radio was not in the car when I purchased it, even, unfortunately. I replaced the $15 Sharp 2-channel tape deck with this satellite radio ready Pioneer. It's all hooked up to Sirius right now, although I think the subscription may have lapsed.

76 --- As mentioned somewhere else in this thread, that's a left-over switch that overrides the climate controls to engage the A/C compressor clutch. I installed it while doing diagnostics on the A/C system. You could cut it off, or rewire it to do something else, since the A/C operates properly now (I replaced the relays which had gone bad.)

81 --- That's the satellite radio tuner attached to the back of the head unit. Not the prettiest installation, I know, but....that wire can be tucked away, it's just fallen down. The kick panel isn't installed, one of the staples came out of it, so the panel itself is living in the trunk lately.

93 --- Oops, that wasn't even a photo of anything. Deleted it from the photo line-up.

This was my only car for a year, but I started racing mountain bikes more heavily and so did several friends, so I bought a Honda Odyssey as a new DD. It handles being loaded down with people, bikes and gear much better. I kept the Benz around for this whole year vaguely continuing to work on it, but I'm moving from Orlando to Seattle in about two weeks, and I don't really need to bring it with me.
