Note however that for educated buyers you want to appear educated. Ad (as in for sale ad) has only one "d", and '92 (1992) would express the year, not 92' (92 feet). The apostrophe indicates that and where letters/numbers were taken out or posessive.
Everyone makes mistakes, but simple stuff can make the difference between selling a car and selling a specialty car for what it's worth.

Lets get real. Anybody that is interested in a E500/500E knows what a '92 500E is and will not think it’s 92 feet. There are a lot more specific 500E questions that could be addressed like he did mentioning the wiring harness, was it the upper or both upper and lower?
If I were interested I would drop him a note, ask for some detailed pictures and a phone number and move away from the forum. Anybody who has time to sit and pick apart an add is not really interested in the vehicle. |

The point is that this is a car that will fetch a good price to the right buyer, and often that buyer likes to buy from someone who types like they made it through high school.

Rude and Inconsiderate members
For the last few years I have always cringed when I see some poor fool try to utilize the forum to actually try to sell a car- I tried it and never would do it again..beside the people who want to act like they are the publisher of the NY times critiques - I cannot imagine how rude some of you are when it comes to a person who isn't as up on the tech and the proper way (is there really one?) of posting a car for sale- I have sold on Craigs list over 12 cars in the last two years (Yeah-I am not a Dealer- legally able to buy and sell 6 cars a year here in Florida) as I am aware, I will be stood up and shot at sundown for bringing this up- but I could care less, as I am right. Some people here should be removed from this site, as it reminds me of leeches waiting for someone to get into the water....Lighten up- stop being *******s to people who would normally appreciate a good SUGGESTION not a demand to their ads. I hope my spelling will also pass muster...I know I brushed my teeth, took a shower, and have on clean clothes and I drive a 911 930 Turbo. Can't wait to hear all the nice replies...

And who would ever challenge that Tim? I mean wow, you drive a 1979 Porsche, you've got to be right.
If you had read the several original replies to the OP, yes, we're a bit direct sometimes, the original ad had almost no information about the car and no photo, it needed (needs) more to sell such a car. When some of those changes were made, the posts were deleted. Much like the 930 turbo, if you just said "1979 Porsche" who would know that it is not a base 911, nor a 935K2 Whittington Brothers car? A specialty car ad is about content, and presentation. You have to get people interested, even excited about your car for them to buy it, there are plenty of cars out there in a soft economy. I'm an impulse buyer, if something interestes me, and there's enough information to make a decision, I buy it. I'm not very good at selling, but pretty good at buying. The original ad was disappointing in that I saw the title, I'm interested, opened the thread and there was nothing more. It could have been different. Want to sell your car easily? You *NEED* to read this!
