FS: 1989 silver/grey 560SEL 159K mi solid car

Hey, I know I'm a dealer, so feel free to take this down. But I am selling this for a friend as a favor and not making any money, so maybe that skirts the 'no dealer' rule?

Anyhow, 560SEL, 89, 159K. 744 silver over dove grey. Current owner had it 7 or so years as daily driver.

Nicely maintained, tchain job done at 90K. A/C is cold, heat is hot, car runs at 80 degrees, all electrics work, Asian Euro lights, $1K+ stereo, engine very smooth, trans very smooth, no HG leaks, etc. He spent money on this car, has a bunch of receipts, did not skimp.

Paint is not great. From 3 feet, fine, but up close looks like someone drove it through bushes...lots of light thin scratches that will not buff out. MAYBE a wet sand will get some/most/all, but I'd assume repaint if you want it to look great. I can get a full same-color repaint done for someone for $1K. I know you'd think it would come out of a spray can for that price, but it'll be a very good quality (not show quality) base/clear fully prepped job.

Interior cosmetics very nice except for usual driver's seat left side bolster needs repair, figure $150 or so. Other seats all look and feel very good. Carpets, wood, trim all good to very good. Not a beater inside. Trunk good, no rear window seal leak, trunk dry. Dash had nav glued down to it and shows a mark.

Mechanically it needs rear strut mounts, PS pump leak sealed, and shimmy in front is likely tire balance but could be ball joints or tie-rod ends. SLS works fine. Really a nice driver, starts right up, idles properly, runs strong, shifts perfectly. I think he may have had trans rebuilt, will have to ask as I forgot. Again, full timing chain job done at around 90K, plus a few thousand in other various stuff along the way to 159K.

I was using this as my daily driver to get to know it better when I promised to help sell it for him, and there's a lot to like here. Good 'bones', just needs minor mechanicals and the cosmetics noted (if you want it to be mint, otherwise don't bother as it looks fine overall).

Price is $1900. If you do paint and seat, add $1150. Mechanicals roughly $600 if it needs everything, $300 if it doesn't need it all. So for around $3500, you have a stellar car that looks and drives great and does not need anything for a while.

Sorry, I took pics but can not find themn since I got my PC back from virus cleaning. Will take again when it stops snowing.

Email me at brucem105@comcast.net or call me at 856-912-2600. Car is in PA, 45 min north of Philly.

I don't think I have sold many cars to people on here, but on BW in the W126 forum there are over 10 people that got their cars from me, they'll vouch as will Kevin in this forum. No stories or problems covered up. Good car, good price.

I would be...

...the "Kevin" to whom Bruce refers.

I don't know how to direct you to my post on my dealings with him - search for "Bruce M - the PIG" on this forum

[Bruce - SWMBO loves the S500. WOOT! Now I can keep the black over palomino SEL clean (she's a bit messy when it comes to cars... ) ]

Thanks again,
Kevin

i went out and bought a ford plow truck last month, or it wouldn't be as much fun digging out manually

Someone buy this or I will put summer rubber on it and keep it. Take that as a threat!

Bruce, is this the same car you were talking about in that email to me? You sent me picture of this car saying that it was like the one you were selling to me via email.
