FS 1982 300CD
1982 300cd
I have decided to try to sell my 300cd. I am probably the third or fourth owner of this car. I purchased this car in June 2008 with 133,500 miles in Long Island, NY. From what previous records exist, it seems that other owners had resided in Arizona and Connecticut. Price: $7500. I have chosen my price after referencing the NADA guide and considering the fact that a number of the common w123 service issues have been covered, as described below. I am open to reasonable offers/dialogue, but cannot accept trades. Contact: rosspdavis@gmail.com. 334-796-9642. Please leave a voicemail if I don’t answer the phone right away. My work doesn’t always provide the flexibility to take phone calls during the day. Location: Dothan, Alabama 36305 VIN: WDBAB53A0CB001852. Title: clean. Mileage:165,478 Paint: Silver Blue Metallic. I would say that the paint is in good condition. It is all original, to the best of my knowledge. There are a few small areas of clear coat flaking on the roof around the sunroof. As would be expected, there are a smattering of rock chips in various areas. All trim is intact. The weather seals are original and the rubber is cracked. I am including replacement front window, side window, and coupe window replacement seals with the sale. I purchased these from Mercedes-Benz, but never installed them. Interior: Blue MB Tex. There is a small tear in driver seat material, demonstrated in the pictures. The dash is not original and is a dark brown. This was done prior to my ownership. The interior wood trim is bright but does have cracks. The floor-mats are original and are in fair-good condition. The floor-mat backing is wearing out, consistent with original equipment in a 1982 model car. The plastic pin securing the center console trim is broken. HVAC: This system is not perfect. The heating and A/C work, but are not perfect. I am by no means an expert with the A/C system in these cars. However, to me there seems to be a problem with the connection between in-dash control panel and blower motor. The blower motor, or what I anticipate is the blower motor, performance is erratic. It will blow high-speed, relatively forceful air for a while, and then begin to weaken. Manipulation of the in-dash buttons will seem to trigger it to increase performance again, only to gradually slow down. I have replaced the in-dash control unit with some improvement, but not resolution. The A/C is cold, but not forceful. Engine: Rebuilt fuel injectors and nozzles installed at 140,0000 miles. New timing chain at 148,000 miles. All drive belts replaced and new coolant hoses installed at 151,000 miles. Front crank seal, engine oil pan, engine oil cooler, engine oil cooler lines replaced at 151,000 miles. New motor mounts and engine shock at 151,000 miles. Suspension: New upper control arms, lower ball joints, associated bushings, and steering shock absorber at 151,000 miles. Tires: New tires at 161,000 miles. New brake pads, rotors, sensors at 161,000 miles. Drivetrain: New drive shaft support bearing and flex discs at 135,000 miles. New axle boots at 161,000 miles. Exchanged rear differential fluid at 135,000 miles. Transmission fluid and filter exchanged at 135,000 and 151,000 miles. Miscellaneous: The cruise control and tachometer work. The rear coupe windows work. A correct Hirshmann antenna is installed, but is not connected to the radio at this time and does not extend/retract. At some point a previous owner installed a stereo/CD player. The sunroof works. Rust: I had extensive repair performed to passenger rear-floor board in May 2009. There are small areas of rust at passenger side front wheel well. I can detect no water intrusion into passenger cabin at this time. Occasionally, the drain plug around fuel cap will not drain well and water can enter trunk during heavy rains. Periodic attention to function of said drain prevents this. It appears that the battery tray received attention prior to my acquiring the car, but appears rust-free at this time. I am a motivated seller, but am asking a little more than some coupes seem to be listed for given the mechanical updates that have been performed. I hope to have the opportunity to entertain any questions you may have. |

Try E-bay for $5K. It is a nice looking 300CD but I don't think you will get even 4,000 here. paid2much is about right.
