CL - Euro 190E FLorida - nearby me

No affiliation to me. If anyone has an interest in
1984 Mercedes Benz 190E

I did go to check the car today and it is 10 minutes away from my home so I can assist .. Original owner purchased in Germany brought over to USA. Man passed like 4yrs ago and the car has been sitting for the most part ..Prior the woman says it was kept up and garaged. They did live near the ocean in Ft. Lauderdale but only body rust I saw was rt / rear jackhole and not too terrible ... other looked ok. The paint looked like it will shine up pretty well. I put the battery in for the woman and it did start up and hold the idle. Drove it around the street only but engine sounds and drives fine enough for what I expected..

Brakes were soft but there, and cosmetically the dash is cracked and so is the dash cover. I piece of the dash itself is cracked a bit by the rear defrost switch. Seats cloth are all in good shape and fronts have covers....Manual windows and manual sunroof. AC blew cold but not too strong...

Any q' or interest by someone they can contact me - here. The car needs routine attention. Could be a good project with some basic maintenence if someone likes to own a Euro spec 190E. I am also pretty sure she will let it go for under $1,000 cash.

On the wrong coast for me

Since you drove it, was it auto or standard? A one owner, lower mileage, euro spec 190 with minimal rust for a cool grand? Why didn't you grab it?

Or do you just make a habit of joy riding random cars for sale? OIC Like the people who visit model home open houses or sign up for vacation rental/timeshare sales pitches. Hehe. You turkey!

You're right tho - that paint will come out real nice with a lil elbow grease.

What's the car next to it? A continental? Looks neat...

And for 1000 or less it looks to be pretty nice

If it was a stick i would have grabbed it in a heartbeat. I just picked up this 240D which I am working on fixing up & this one just didn't knock me out even for $1,000. I am not a fan of badly cracked dashes and the crack in the dash switch. If it is still there when I finish up with the 240 I may give it a longer look. I posted it here in case there's a forum member who wants it more than me... I looked because it is so close and wanted to check out the car and the handling compared to my old usa 190E. Unfortunatey with the soft brakes I wouldn't take this car too far..

Yessssssssss

Thanks for the response. Somebody will find it useful.

Don't know how it is there, but you can find good 201 dashes out here all day long. They're not the w123 style unicorn just yet.
