FS 1987 MB 300 SDL

I'm located in western Colorado, and you can call me at 970-379-6433.

The MB is in really good shape.

I am the second owner, and it came out of Florida. The body has some stone chips on the leading edge of the hood, and one small rust bubble just above the chrome trim on the passenger side B pillar. Other than that, the body has no issues. The sunroof works great, and seals perfectly. Has the original windshield, which is in great shape. I put 2 new Bosch wipers on it, but it could use 2 new blades for the headlight wipers.

The tires are close to new. The car has 119,700 miles on it.

I've had the car since December of 2012. I've installed a new battery, fuel, oil and air filters, rebuilt the monovalve and put a new A/C relay in it so the hvac system works well, although sometimes it takes a bit for the ACC system to kick it in to the high heat mode on these cold days. The factory installed block heater had never been used, so I bought a new cord for that, and even on the coldest mornings, it starts right up if I go through 2 cycles on the glow plugs. I've also installed a new engine stop valve on the fuel injector. The MB dealer did the trap oxidizer recall December 2012, and put a new serpentine belt on. The alternator has a new regulator.

When I got the car, there was a big leak from the front of the transmission, so I pulled it, installed a new torque converter seal, and new seals for the front of the transmission. While I had the transmission out, I put a new rear main seal on the engine, as well as a new transmission mount and flex disks on the drive shaft. I also put the recommended 2-3 shift spring kit in the transmission.

The interior is in great shape, no tears anywhere in the upholstery, and the headliner is great. I installed new bungee cords on the map pockets on the back of the bucket seats. There are some white spots on the carpet under the front floor mats. All of the power seat functions, including the headrests, work as they should. I replaced the right side power mirror, so it works great as well.

I modified the taillights slightly by installing a second set of brake lamps in the vacant fog light sockets.

I pulled and cleaned the fuel tank, and put a new screen in it, and new hoses to tie into the fuel hard lines. When I cleaned the tank, I got a ton of crap out of it, but the pressure washer kicked the tank out onto the gravel outside the shop, and abraded the tank, which I have patched.

I replaced the dash light rheostat, and the stereo fader switch in the console. The stereo is the original Becker cassette. The radio works fine, as does the automatic antenna, but some of the pixels in the display are not working. I don't know if the cassette deck is working, since I don't have any.

The fuel tank sender has been replaced with other used ones, but it still slowly creeps down. I'm putting a full set of new fuses in the car shortly, and maybe that will help.

The car runs awesome. Brakes are good, and I'd put some new shocks on it sometime in the next year. These cars are easy to work on, and there is a ton of info on the web about them. Betty White (I named the car) is an awesome, reliable and smooth ride. She purrs down the road.

I'm asking $10,500 for the car, which is thousands less than I have in it.

Nice SDL...and a good description of work done. Price might be a bit steep around here, but with that low mileage it may very well be worth it to the right person. If not, there's always flebay. Best of luck with the sale!
