124 Wagon in MD

This would appear to be close to a "cream of the crop" car, although it is not a low mileage car. Anyway, no affiliation, but it has been on CL for quite a while. I doubt anyone except a real fan would spend this top dollar money.

Maybe a candidate for an M119 conversion?

There's this market, and then there's the market for higher mileage, well-sorted daily drivers, some of which come with records since new, which happens to be 1/2 this guy's asking price. Take your pick I guess...

This does appear to be a nice example, though.

No joke on the price. I paid MUCH less for a very well sorted DD with records from when the car was new however my car does need some rust repair.

Something's not right with this wagon. The cladding shouldn't match the body that closely, or it may just be how the color is translating on my laptop. But the f/r bumper combo is a pre-1994 scheme with the black strip. Unless the bumper and cladding were repainted and they decided to paint the strip black? or found already black strips to install due to a wreck? Then add in the period incorrect wheels...

The emerald green color had matching plastic trim.

Black is incorrect for the bumpers, but they appear to be smooth, not textured like the original black ones.

Could just be personal choice on the bumpers. The plastic can weather and also the bumpers get scrapes. As far as the wheels, maybe the originals were corroded, the 95 only polished alloys can get pretty rough if not treated very carefully.

It would be interesting to hear the explanation for the trim and the wheels.

Jim

Still suspect. Florida "estate car" and even through the years the polished OE wheels would look good. I'd be interested to know when it went from FL estate to MD. Thanks for jogging my memory on the emerald green. There's a similar blue with a suffix "a" or something that is of the same tone.

I get it with the bumpers. I'm looking to replace my brittle, once presentable ones, just recently made not so presentable as I traveled from VA to NC in the recent storm. Need a new cover and strip (shameless plug) but saved a survivor tow cover(whew!).

To your point, I'd like to hear the explanation, too.
