I have a project 280 SL convertible. Very rare and cool car. The car is a very rare and low mileage 75,000 kilometer car, which is about 47,000 original miles.. Interior is rare to find. Has the lorinser tag still on it.

The bad, Cylinder head was taken off and never put back on. All parts are in trunk boxed and bagged. Has some rust bubbles showing through paint but no holes in the car. Lorinser used body filler to flush mount rear spoiler and that is cracked. Other than that, the paint is shiny and the body is pratically flawless.

Price: $3800...very rare car that would probably be worth 15-20k when you're done? Not gonna find another one for awhile!! Call me at 916 335-0708. I normally don't answer so prepare to leave message and I usually get back to people asap.

While there are some nice parts there a 280SL is not all that rare. That looks like a Mercedes rubber spoiler on the rear. OE on 107026, 046 and ROW 048. Worth more if it had original bumpers and headlights.

Got paperwork backing up those claims?

It's got everything lorinser put on these cars plus the original lorinser tag. Still retains the lorinser tag on the front coil springs as well. I have had two mercedes guys look at the car when I bought it. One knows a lot, one is a mechanic. The entire car is legit.

To the person who says the car isn't that rare. Go find 5 more for sale. These are the original bumpers and a lot of imported cars have american lights, some have euro. I have the original California title issued from 1985. Seems like most euro cars I have bought in the past were imported in 1985.It's funny how people who know little and have no cash are the ones to chime in their two cents....hate to come off like a jerk but please know what you are looking at before speaking up...

Also, there is no way from the picture posted to comment about a rubber spoiler when you could not determine that in any way shape or form. No it is not rubber.

From what I saw it is marked on the springs and under the trunk with metal tags, kinda looking like vin tags having Lorinser stamped on them. They also have little rivets just like Mercedes uses on their crate motors. I'll try to get pictures and I actually know this guy and can vouch
