My brother has moved from Utah back to North Carolina and could not bring his 1984 300d with him and it is sitting in storage about a hour outside of Salt Lake City. This is a great no rust car that he bought in AZ and drove for several years without any problems. It has about 160K miles on it. One of the kids was driving it and left the lights on and ran the battery down, when they tried to jump it, crossed the wires (their story)and it has not started since. My brother also said the brakes were getting spongey and he thought the mastercylinder was going.
He needs to sell it and stop paying storage on it but you can expect to have to work on the wiring immediately and brakes in the future.

It should be worth more than the $500.00 he is asking even if you part it out and scrap the shell.
