It looks / sounds like a good parts car to me, are TD's now worth that much ? .

I had no idea whether $2000 reflected anything close to value in the marketplace. That is what its worth to me to keep for parts. It appears from this thread its worth more to me than anyone else.
It got stress tested yesterday. We were headed out camping and my 15 year old daughter hit the first river ford way too fast. As it bounced over the boulders I wondered if something would break loose, but it kept right on rolling. If failure had been eminent, it would have happened then.

Well, we put it up on blocks last week. I have never given up on a running car before, but I found a deal on an 85 sedan in much better body shape that had been sitting in a field for several years so I am spending my holiday break switching parts over to get the new one running.
If you need any parts holler. The blue interior is pretty decent as most of it has been replaced over the years.
