83 300 TDT wagon, 370K miles, no records, no third seat needs CVs done, blue in color. She needs a little work, but has been a solid car for me till the CVs started hammering. The car is located in Mountain Home AR. and is currently registerd and driveable. the car no longer has alloys, with the exception of the spare, it has steel wheels and hubcaps.
Asking $800 OBO.
thanks
Corey

When you say CV's I assume you mean the flex joints in the driveshaft. Do you have any idea whether they could be fixed locally and how much that would cost?

Does the A/C work? What else can you tell us?

Perhaps you could provide a web address and/or phone number.

Thanks!

re cvs

I am refering to the joints on the axle shafts, actually only one has a torn boot, and may be salvagable with a new boot, I just dont care to mess with it having 2 other cars that I have to put engines in. The AC worked initially when I bought it, but has a leak somewhere and would need to be evacuated and recharged + the leak located and fixed, most likely just a hard O ring somewhere in the system, but I dont know for sure.
pics are up at
http://fatherspeedbug.50megs.com/
and there is a email link there as well

oh and if it needs a halfshaft, that could be done locally

yes its pretty rust free, onlya few dings here and there, like by passenger rear corner of the hood, somthing fell on it and there is a small crease in the fender, needs turn signal lens on pass side too. reverse lights are gone, oh and some *#(@#$%_) drilled a hole in the roof for a 2 way radio antenna... its not the cleanest wagon out there, needs someone who will love it, but for $800 there is not a lot to complain about. Its in Mountain Home AR 72653

price reduction on 83 300 TDT

well since I am not getting anybites I will drop it to $500 on the wagon, OR since I am sure there are a lot of ppl here with other euro cars and parts laying around, will trade for a good IE 350 lb compression minimum 1.6 liter N/A VW diesel, OR a COMPLETE VW 1.6 or dare I dream 1.9 turbodiesel in rebuildable condition. the previous thread is at
http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/showthread.php?threadid=53146
thanks
Corey

This sounds like a pretty good deal, but I am over a thousand miles away, and I am somewhat leery of buying a car I haven't seen or driven.

I don't suppose you would have the time to bring it here. If it could be driven here, that would pretty much prove it was fairly reliable.

Obviously I don't expect you to deliver a car to Miami for $500. If it is in reasnably good shape, and had lots of oil pressure, and the rear suspension is functional, and you have a way of getting it here in working shape, then perhaps you could give me a price.

I could put you up here in Miami for several days and show you some of the sights.

I just can't get away for so long a trip.

I would imagine that fixing the axle shaft would be required for
anyone who was driving it farther than a hundred miles or so,
