16v overhauling

wondering if anyone did an "overhaul" with their 16v. How much would one expect to put in to get a 16v back to as new condition(exterior,interior,engine,suspension,etc...) thanks

My guess is if you went through everything these car typically need, you would spend WAY more than the car is worth. You can find them used from $3,000 to $8,000 depending on their condition. Occassionally you see a low mileage one advertised in the $10,000 - $12,000 range, but I doubt they ever get that much.

I have replaced alot of pieces on mine, but no major motor work yet (155k miles). It is a love/hate relationship. I figure at this point anything else I spend on the car is strictly for me if I choose to keep it. The selling of the car will not recapture the additional expenses.

Depending on if you do the work yourself or pay someone, you could easily spend $6,000 to $8,000 to rebuild most of the major components.
