do turbos and superchargers shorten the life of the engine?

If an engine is designed to be normally aspirated and an aftermarket tuner adds a turbo or supercharger, could this shorten the life of the engine? Or does that depend on how the car is driven. I'm thinking of getting the C43 supercharged (or modified in some way) but I'm concerned about engine wear. Would I have to have it serviced more often? Thanks in advanced
